Things to know about me:

I am a 61-year-old grandmother who lives in the sometimes strange state of California. I have recently lost my job due to budget constraints and am going through the grind of attempting to find another job.

One of the things that keeps me sane is digital scrapbooking . . . small investment, no mess.

Jobs I have had in my life:

  1. Prepare copies of the home-town paper for mailing to out-of-town subscribers (didn’t last long)
  2. Teacher aide/school library aide
  3. Office assistant for Monterey Jazz Festival
  4. Reader for visually impaired students
  5. Church office assistant
  6. Test proctor

Movies I would watch over and over:

  1. Anything with “Star Wars” in the title
  2. “Sneakers” (Robert Redford/Sidney Poitier)
  3. Anything with “Lord of the Rings” in the title
  4. “To Catch a Thief” (Cary Grant/Grace Kelly)
  5. “Donovan’s Reef” (John Wayne/Lee Marvin)
  6. “Captain Ron” (Kurt Russell/Martin Short)–love the boat

Places I have lived (the only places I have lived):

  1. Crescent City, CA
  2. Monterey, CA

  4. Sacramento, CA

  2. Monterey, CA (on the beach)
  3. Disneyland/Disneyworld
  4. on a beach (sense a theme here?)

Some favorite books:

  1. Memory, Sorrow, Thorn by Tad Williams (that’s actually four books–he calls it a bloated epic)
  2. The Crystal Cave, etc. by Mary Stewart (another version of the Arthur/Merlin myth)
  3. Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash is good, too)
  4. The Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson (three books that precede and set up Cryptonomicon)
  5. The Bible (and, no, it was not written by God)
